Does anybody have one of these (three cylinder, but four is probably the same) about ten years old? If so, I'd like to make contact. I haven't had mine for long and it would be mighty helpful to pick up some tips and compare notes. Thanks.

I have a rather more elderly Lister. an rh4w, about 50 hp. At first it was the bane of my existance, but we now seem to be developing a relationship.

I still suspect it is out to get me and will assuredly die if I actually need to use it, However it now seems to start everytime. It sometimes takes a moment or two to get up to speed, but then so do I and I am the same age so....

There is a very good Lister Petter agent down here in Devon by all accounts. Not needed them yet.. touch wood... but have supplied me with manuals, filters, gaskets and seals quite reasonable.

I have the two cylinder 20hp version 1989 vintage in my elderly Vancouver 27. It weighs almost 300 lbs and serves as 'active' ballast. The engine had been standing unused for a couple of years when I bought the boat - but Northshore managed to bring it back to life - all the parts were readily available. I understand that a common fault with the engine if you don't use it for a long period is for the rack that operates the injectors to sieze up. Thos in the know tell me 'it will last for ever' - as long as it lasts as long as I do I will be happy.
