Out with Lawsey and crew earlier.
The nonsense getting back in was ridiculous.
Lawsey may enlighten further in due course.

Yes it was made as a competitor for. The Cruel Sea. Personally I think it's better. Mind I shot the fishy boat a few times, till I sorted it out. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Even if 'they' get it in the water don't plan on too mutch activity.
According to the 'Drums' today there is mutch mukin about with dredgers, suckers, pipes and booms across the 'Gap' FOR 3 WEEKS HENCE!
The 'Dredger' looks like summat out of a Popeye cartoon.

For those that don't know, the dredger is hoovering the mud and silt out of the marina and pumping it into the river on the ebb tide. I'm just waiting for it to finish, and for all the good peeps to go belting out of the marina only to run into a huge mound of shite blocking the channel /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Well today Lawsey skilfully motored His vessel out the Marina.
He was told He could stay out till 17.00 ish.
On re entering at 15.30 ish there was mutch waving and hollering.
There was said pipe blocking the way in to His berth.
Mind you, He is berthed in the cheap seats at the shallow end!
Discount Merchant that He is however, (plus a Man City supporter /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif) it was not Cricket to make Him wait for the Tide to drop before re berthing under the walkway!
OK if the Powers that be could have notified.
There was nothing on 80!
There was no Drama.
But it's all a bit cockeyed imho! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
The 'newsletter' from Mission Control (marina) says that access / boat movements are only allowed upto high water - after that, they rig the pipe up, and start hoovering. So if you want to get in or out, you need to do it between the gate opening (HW-3 ish) and HW. They dismantle the pipe when they've finished, so you can get in/out at night.
Did you get a chance to slap any antifoul on while you were down there ? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
That's all very well (mentioning the limited access in the newsletter) but not everybody signs up to that publication. Why has the marina not sent info out to everybody automatically? The marina has my e.mail address so why should I have to go looking rather than them being pro-active & telling? Similarly, why is info re restricted access not on the marina website? Also, having spoken to two guys on the fuel pontoon yesterday before I went out why did neither think to tell me that coming back in would be almost impossible (see Kawasaki's earlier post). None of this is, of course, your fault but just random early morning thoughts after another bad day at Conwy.
But you got out. Then in again. What can be wrong with that. To be fair to them, they have to get the job done. Or do you preffer the mud. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
There's an easy way of curing your Conwy probs, you know what it is /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
An extra 20 mins drive, or hours being messed about and not knowing if you will get back in, you decide /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
Seems to me the silting problem is an ongoing one which wont go away due to the situation of the marina, I can understand why the bigger boats don't like sitting in the mud, but it wouldn't hurt Moony

Dunno - they email out a 'newsletter' every couple of weeks, and it was in that (otherwise I wouldn't have known anything) - It was the same with the gate shenanigans - Maybe worth getting them to add you to the list for future ref. (Not seeking to defend the information thay've put out (or lack of) - You would think that they could at least stick a notice in the window, but I haven't seen one). There is a local NTM, but this just refers to the general dredging work, not the specifics. I believe they'll be there for a few weeks, yet.
