Liquorice

Who remembers Liquorice? Not the black sweety stuff but the wood root. I got some the other day and it tastes just as good as it did when I was a sprog. Only thing is someone stopped me and told me 'sorry sir, no smoking' because it looked so much like I had a small cigar stuck in my face.

The local "hairies" (aka Infinity Foods, whole food coop and the like) used to sell it.

Probably banned nowadays as "unsafe"?
