We are thinking of overnighting in Linosa en route from Tunisia to Malta in June. As it is Italian territory can anyone advise if we need to visit Lampadusa first as a port of entry or can anchor overnight andf then press on?

We will probably we anchor overnight and not land.

Also I seem to remember being warned off Lampedusa as it was a popular landing place for illegal immigrants looking to enter the EU and life could get very complicated as a result....anyone have first hand experience?

Many thanks

I'd be interested as well, as we will also be travelling from tunisia to Malta at that time, would be great to see you again!

I am pretty confident it must be as buddies of mine have done the trip from Tunisia - which they would not have been able to do if it was not a port of entry.

That said, that is an opinion, not a fact, so if I end up in the local clink please send food parcels :)
