Linking Furuno GPS to Navman 5505i

I am trying to use my Furuno GPS to send position data to my Navman 5505i chartplotter as the internal aerial on the Navman regularly loses it's signal. I think I have made the correct connections but can't get it to work. I'm guessing that I have to change settings somewhere. I have changed the plotter from internal aerial to NMEA.
Any suggestions gratefully received. I don't really know much about this sort of thing. Thanks.

The Furuno GP32 has two separate NMEA data outputs. AFAIK, the correct one for your purpose should be data 1, which is the white (+ve) and blue (-ve), is this the pair that you've used? Can't help with the Navman though.
