No indeed I haven't. And I'm not quite sure what to make of it either.

Quick googling tells me that Liquipel takes your Phantom apart and they then spray it with a solution that makes it waterproof. The comments as to it's usefulness were varying. Might be a good precaution but it doesn't make the Phantom float.

This does though, however I wouldn't think it would be up to much other than on a millpond:

What I was looking for was something similar I'd seen done with a different type of drone using the long thin cylindrical floats beloved of 'aqua aerobics' classes, it looked a much more robust flotation solution.

That's a phantom 1, light as a feather. These days we are on phantom 3, necessary to get the movie quality we're seeing here. Much heavier, like 1.25kilos*, so you'd need a lot more polystyrene than that. Unfortunately it then gets in the movie shot

*Note the 1.25kg weight doesn't mean 1.25 litres of polystyrene is enough. To get form stability in the "hull" that you make with the polystyrene, you need topsides and a shape that gives you a half decent AVS. So you're talking perhaps 2.5 litres of polystyrene. The phantom in that movie never actually floats, btw
