Just paid the deposit on the next "Charlie Brown" and all things being equal we will be boat owners again by mid January...

lots of things to sort out but deposit paid subject to engine inspection and sea trial.

Many will recall our love for ribs and in the 2 years and a month (not that i have been counting) that we have been boatless we have come close on a few occasions but somehow it just wasn't the right one...

This one came up a few weeks back but was "sold" in a matter of hours. The sale fell through (the buyer actually bought a new boat direct from the manufacturer after seeing this one), we viewed last sunday and agreed the deal today. i knew it was going to be the one when we walked into the barn and i saw Mrs Z1ppy's face!

So... the next boat is a Scorpion 8.1 meter with 275 Verado outboard. Perfect layout for us. (2 +2 jockey seats and rear bench) flexiteak decks, Raymarine C120 plotter, ais and radar, sound system and even has a deck shower too (which can be rigged to fresh water flush the engine whilst afloat) its pretty much had all the options ticked and not sure we could have wished for a better spec! (even down to the custom fit trailer)

so, to say I'm grinning from ear to ear is an understatement!! its been a difficult year for us for a number of reasons so can't wait to put bad health behind us and get back to doing what makes us happy!!!

Merry Christmas!!! :o:o

Hope all goes well with the purchase, looking forward to seeing pictures

another happy mobo-ist ! Well worth the wait to hear of the good news.

I spose you have bought some ultra cold weather foulies to go with it :)

Great news Howard, many congratulations, and a very Happy Christmas present to you!!!
You know some of us will expect a spin round the bay on June 6th for a bit of R&R :D

thanks all. yup paul, sure we can have it over at OV in june as long as my backside can cope after 70 miles!

super cold weather gear already got. it really makes all the difference to winter boating, just need some new must boots tho which maybe after christmas.. as for roy chasing me, it has been noted I'm 25 horses behind him but its not about the size, its how you use it!

Congratulations, quite a bit of kit.

50 knots?? Wow...... Almost as fast as Thanks Mum when promised a bottle of Lambrini and a Twix!!

Have a great Christmas and look forward to seeing you out there next year.

Congratulations Howard, I'm looking forward to us hooning around on the Ribs together, including next years blast to Alderney.
As there are a few Ribsters on here, perhaps we can have a Rib "Beer & natter" on the Brambles ?

Ok, so its taken a while (which was mostly down to us not pushing it as we have been busy) but finally completed today and we are now boat owners again! all in all, a very simple transaction with a knowledgable broker and a realistic seller.

Sea trial was done a couple of weeks ago and everything we expected and more. Very soft ride, loads of grunt and very composed in all respects.
