This might seem a silly question. but..

Does a lighthouse show up on a radar screen?

Most solid things do but a lighthouse might be high up a cliff and then only the cliff might show.

As pmagowan says - but the lighthouse might also be equipped with a racon, in which case you'll also see an intermittent HUGE echo from it

If you turn down the gain, an onshore lighthouse might be the only echo showing.

Exactly - not all shorebased lighthouses have racon, but certainly all isloated one (e.g. Smalls, Bishop Rock) have racon.

The only exception is Eddystone Lighthouse, which broadcasts a medley of it's hits.
