I am seeking simple festoon lamp holders to refurbish deckhead light fittings on a Swan 42 (1982).

Caravan Store ....
A lot of lights are based on exactly the FESTOON lamp style and you can find different versions taking from your 5W up to much higher ratings .... circular, oblong, square ...... I always check out the caravan shop for all cabin related bits and bobs !! Note that many items are actually same but with different name on that you buy in chandlers etc.

Most festoon lights have been replaced by 15mm bayonet fittings these days, and incandescent lamps are giving way to halogen and LED.
I looked in ECS, Hella, amd Timage current catalogues and couldn't see any festoon lamps for sale.
Have you considered replacing with a more modern fitting? I recall a friend with a Swan 47 had the same problem
