On a recent night sail, having had difficulty spotting port / starboard buoy lights against background lights on the shore, I thought I would invest in a set of light filters that i saw in one of the sailing catalogues.

However, I can't now find the items in any of the various catalogues I have.

Can any forumite point me in the right direction?
From memory, the filters basically looked like bits of red and green plastic (I don't know whether they are any more sophisticated than that) and cost less than a tenner.

If however, anyone has any better idea for spotting lights then please let me know.

Re: Mailspeedmarine

Red-green colour blindness varies from person to person. I am mildly red-green colour blind and have difficulty with the colour of buoys, and more importantly with lights, but I found the filters useless. Given that the're not cheap, for a couple of bits of coloured plasstic, masybe its a case of try before you buy, but don't ask me how.
