Im looking for a new liferaft for my 32 foot sailboat. Possibly a Lifeguard forties B or a plastimo offshore 4 man canister. North sea use.
Where do i get the best price in the UK for a mailorder to Norway ?
Any pros and cons for the to types ?

Have you considered renting the raft ? if you are not using the boat all year round it could well work out cheaper and you dont want to be looking at "cheap" you want to be looking at content and quality.
Some of the orc/rorc rafts are little more than kids paddling pools with minimal kit and poor build quality, personally id be looking for a ISAF or SOLAS raft which are more expensive hence cheaper to rent

IMHO

Not sure about a mail order to Norway from UK. When I looked into this, I was quoted about £200 extra freighting because the l/r was viewed as dangerous cargo and had to be handled accordingly.

Regarding type of l/r, before deciding which raft consider where you'll be cruising. If it's coastal then the cheapies advised above would be OK, as you know there are plenty of craft about to pick you up. If you are thinking of going offshore then in my view the cheapies are a false economy and I'd pick one of the premium l/rs with insulated floor and anti-tumble devices such as a Viking. Viking are a Scandinavian company so you might find that local prices aren't so bad.
