Hi all,
Quick question - does anyone know a suitable liferaft that will fit in the liferaft locker of a new Princess V39. My existing liferaft won't fit and it's tricky to work out what dimensions will go in as you need to push the liferaft through at an angle. The locker does seem very small!

Thanks for any help,

Steve.

Nice boat. I'd ask Pete Harwood at PMYS to establish which raft the locker was designed for.

We also took the 4 man valise, as nothing else would fit.

It's very frustrating that they do not provide one with the sale, or at least a recommended. Same with the outboard engine storage and tender! 3 year later and we are almost there...

Beautifully once out at sea, but without a joystick it's a bastard to berth because of its off centre axis on sterndrives and fairly weak bowthruster even on top spec (therefore we took both joystick and top bowthruster).

They may have ironed this out since 2013/14 however

Well it's sits well once they fix your trim tabs.... Which even a new boater could see weren't even... :)

On a serious note, I would say that the V39 carries a lot of "good" weight in the right places (one of the new resin infused princess' with masses of interior space, furniture and features and a huge fat arse to boot) that keeps it sitting well on the waves, unlike my previous boat.

If you're think of buying, I could not recommend a better model in its class, and the only downside is that princess now know it and it's price is beginning to soar.

It has features that a boat its size has no right to have (amazingly spacious heads for a 40 footer, and all the gizmos of a 50 footer can fit on board.

As a family of 4 and a dog, we could happily stay with the V39 for as long as possible, but as this months mag says, "boats shrink when wet!"

Next for us would be a princess 52, which is all the features of a 60 footer... Until that shrinks aswell!

I would say you can't go wrong with any resin infused princess. PM me if you want an introduction!

Hi Princess70,

My name is Chris Bailey, I manage 'Princess Individual' a customisation service for Princess owners from Princess Motor Yacht Sales based in Plymouth.

The liferaft locker space on the V39 (in aft face of helm/nav seat box) was designed specifically to accommodate an Ocean Safety Ltd Ocean ISO RAF0120(8 man valise).

We are able to supply you this liferaft and can deliver it to any location. If this is of any interest to you or if you have any other questions I can help you with please feel free to contact me.

Thanks for the replies. Princess advised me the Ocean Safety liferaft was an extremely tight to fit in the locker, but that there wasn't another one that they could recommend (hence the post on this forum). I guess the problem is that in an emergency, you don't want to be fighting to get the liferaft out if it's stuck.

Thanks again,

Steve.
