Anybody want to join a group doing a liferaft drill in the South Woodham swimming pool.

The more people interested, the lower it'll cost.

PM me for details.

More info

The pool is booked for Saturday 24th November and liferafts have been ordered for the event.

We plan to enter the pool in oilies (clean, we don't want to leave an oil slick) and boots using our lifejackets so we experience using them just in case we ever end up in the drink. We also plan to 'feel' the difference of using crotch straps / sprayhoods, or not.

We'll then deploy a liferaft (or 2 if we are large numbers) and practice entering it from the poolside to simulate the boat going down, as well as uprighting an inverted raft from within the water and then boarding it with a full crew.

Spread the word. We need a minimum of 10 people, to drive the per person cost down.

I was hoping this would be a video!

More seriously - I've done RYA sea survival and was head and shoulders the best most useful course I've done. You need to get someone on the cold water hosepipe to make it a bit more real!

Count me in.

What would the costs be?

More importantly, will there be tea before going into the pool to provide authenticity to the experience? :)

Looks like we'll be having quite a pool party.
Anymore?
Please add your names to the list if you're not yet on it. When I have the full numbers I'll then calculate costs and let you know.
More participants = lower cost.

We have now reached the maximum numbers we can take in the pool.

If your name appears on the list above please check your private message box for details later today. (Mon 22nd Oct)
