I have a Seago liferaft which needs its first service.

Can anyone recommend a liferaft service company in the Maldon/Essex area that could carry out the work.

Just sent Suffolk Sailing an e-mail to ask about Seago servicing.

Got a phone call from them ten minutes later to confirm that they don't do Seago themselves, but will send the raft to Seago for servicing at no additional cost.

Now that is what I call service! Will drop the raft off week after next,

They don't do Seago.....:D

Marinestore in BYH and Maldon shop act as collecting point on a Thursday IIRC.

It is, and always has been chaotic, and I had a stand up row with their MD at LIBS around 4 years ago about their ongoing spat with the servicing liferafts industry.
To be honest, I found his attitude short sighted and arrogant.

When I sail off into the sunset, it will be with a liferaft that I can have serviced worldwide, not return to base.

I phoned Seago and made an arrangement with Cosalt. Mine was collected, serviced and returned in a week.

When I can be bothered, I will be selling mine.

Massive thumbs up for Suffolk Sailing.

I can honestly say the service Suffolk Sailing have given us will be hard to surpass. Graham helped me with a dodgy RFD raft a few years ago which I foolishly bought off ebay, as well as arranging the courier for a Plastimo raft we sold to a forumite. The most friendly, approachable and knowledgeable company in ImHO. Service like this is rarely found these days. If you cannot find a Seago service centre locally to you I would recommend Suffolk Sailing to you whole heartedly and without reservation. For the record other than being a very satisfied customer I have no business links with the company.

I spoke to them today at the boatshow.
That said that they can get Seago rafts serviced by a company they deal with in Cornwall.
They can collect from Levington or West Mersea.
There base is in Burnham-on-Crouch.
They quoted me £85 +VAT plus the cost of any replacement parts.

Hi Clive, what was the show like. could you do a quick report pls

If you're going to the Show you could ask ADEC. They serviced my XM liferaft a couple of years ago, and were significantly cheaper than Premier at Burnham. Their service shop is just off the A13 near Dagenham.
