I am considering a new 4 man life raft in a caninster to replace the vailise AIMAR one which is about 9years old. My Main concern is that looking at either the Seago at about 28kg or the Ocean Safety at about 39kg I am a bit concerned at mounting this amount of weight on the pushpit. Can anyone offer advice on whether I should strenghen the undeside of the bases or will this weight be amount of weight be OK (old boat pretty sturdy), I am also considering making an additional arm from the sailless steel cradle to bolt onto the toe rail at the stern but wonder if this is a bit of overkill?
While the best place would normally be on the coach roof this would severely restrict froward visibility and the ability to blow up the dinghy so push pit or another vialise kept down below any thoughts or suggestions greatfully received

ManyThanks

No problems on the back of my Vancouver 27 (it's a Seago 4 man by the way!)

Many thanks to Phoenix of Hamble and Merry Mary for your reply The photo looks good and not to intrusive either I also have a 27 footer but have a gap/ gate in the pushpit whereas you have a solid complete push pit which will obvoiusly give greater rigidity

Many thanks again
