The jacket is a Crewsaver Hammar Automatic, 2000 vintage. The manual inflation valve appears to be fine. What is the easiest way to find out where the leak is?
Mick.
I had one leaking last week when testing them, (not Crewsaver) it was leaking at the bolt head which holds the firing mech to the bladder, check if bolt needs tightened up.

I had the same problem. On the Hammer jackets the bottle is inside the bladder thus it has to pass through via a seal. It's usually at this point that it leaks air. If you reassemble it and wet the seal before doing so then this can stop the leak. It may take a few attempts. Good luck
Thanks, all, especially BrendanS. I tested the jacket in water and there is air coming from the Hammar valve itself, not the seal. The Hammar mechanism was due for replacement two years ago so that will be attended to. I didn't realise I had bought the thing so long ago.
