Just bought 5 arming kits from Force 4 the expiry dates on them are 2015. 2016. 2017.What dates should they be?

2017, at least. You should have 3-4 years left on them. I bought 2 off RT Supplies http://rt-supplies.co.uk/product-category/life-jacket-re-arming-kits/ cheaper than e-bay & half the price of some chandlers. They arrived in a day or two & had 3 years left on them.
I am deeply suspicious of sell by dates & the previous kit had lasted some 8 years before getting set off after my son stuffed them under his bunk in the bilges & the stern gland let in some hundreds or gallons of water.

Yes, straight way. The guy in the shop thought it was a manufacturing date, but I was pretty sure that the cartridge date should give at least 3 years!
