Life Calk = Arbokol 1000?

I was using life calk for some fittings today and it seemed very similar to something i have used in the past. I evenually tracked it down and i believe it's pretty much identical to Arbokol 1000, a polysulphide sealant, which is widely available and a fraction of the cost. Can anyone else verify this? It smells, and feels exactly the same! Are there any other sealants like this that have their prices jacked up because the word boat is printed on the packaging?

Cheers

I've been using the Arbokol 1000 inplace of life caulk. Much cheaper and they are essentially the same thing. The arbokol packaging even states suitable for marine bedding and fittings.

I have also found 'building joint sealant' in B & Q for a fiver a tube, which is the same also but only available in white. The arbokol is a bigger tube for the same money however.

Life caulk is 16 quid in my local chandlery vs £4. something from glaziers! The word marine clearly jacks up the price!
