Life after boating......

The garden I got is ideal for sailors/holiday rental letters/ non Percys (Thrower).

1x Olive tree. 5x barrel cactus. 5x Aloe vera, 1x another wierdo bush that is known as Kate.

And a vine (jeremy) that takes little looking after.

Secret of success: Picon Is The Black Stuff On The Soil In Lanzarote - Lanzarote Information

The only thing I have to do battle with is the triffid (bouganvilla) that I have finally reached an understanding with. (y)

There is some grass here on the roundabout at the entrance to the marina. It doesnt seem to cause much trouble but it must be quite lonely.

I’m supposed to be pulling cables for my grey water pumps and instead I’m sitting giggling at your insane humour. Thanks

That is what was the picture put forward by the RYA at the South East Conference. Liveaboards will have to leave the EU (all states) an ensure they never stay for more than 90 days in any 180 day period. That also means you MUST ensure you check out otherwise the clock will still keep running. This is going to be a major problem for cruisers and liveabords in the Med.
Most of us full time live aboard don't worry about the what's going to happen mostly because we always found ways to deal with any problem that we have to face , I'm in no doubt we will found a way around this one too .

I hope there is a solution or your life style will change as you will have to carefully count the days you are in the EU to ensure you do not break their rules.

well there is the problem , us brits are too busy following rules , some one once said, rules were made to be broken .
We know of many non EU cruisers that's been in Europe for years more then they are aloud and never have a problem .
But as I said some thing will get sorted .

Even worse than gardening would be, horror of horrors, the motor caravan!

Giving up the peace and freedom of the sea to spend your leisure time on the roads; where's the appeal in that?
For once we are in 100% agreement. I was thinking of selling the boat until SWMBO said " good - we can buy a campervan"

What in particular is wrong with the camper van.
I was thinking that fitting out a van would be a substitute for popping down to the boat.
Then the van equivalent of coast hopping the sunnier bits of Europe until the days are exhausted and I have to return to UK.

It would be no good if everything wanted the same thing.
I have taken interest in various activities , including classic cars , photography and gardening which have become very much secondary to boating.
Tinkering with the boat replaced my interest in tinkering with old cars .

I would not rule out a motorhome replacing the boat , eventually . I am not done with boating yet.

A lot of people just don't understand boating , especially when other forms of travel are cheaper and quicker. After half an hour they would find it dull and want to get off.
