Lidl goodies Sunday 5th

I bought this in Lidl yesterday:

I've never seen anything like it before but it will be useful for my removing the square male fittings often used for drain and filler plugs on older cars and for the strange castellated round "nuts" (although not nuts 'cos there are no flats!) on my Son's Landy drive shafts.

How big is that?
How much was it?
It might be handy as a tap wrench when access isn't great?

The interesting tool there is what they call a Drive Socket Set. This has a hollow ratchet and sockets that allow you to tighten nuts on long studs. Just the thing for my boat's steering quadrant cable ends if it goes up to 19mm. I am going to look today. I have a Lidl socket set that has proved to be as good as some expensive brands.

It only goes up to 13mm so too small for me. I looked at the adjustable wrench but it lacks the strength of my American ones that have a single sliding jaw working in a slot towards the fixed jaw.

I keep looking at the cheap rope they and others sell. Always put it down again for some reason ....

Bought some of that in Faro Lidl, just used it to change a reefing line, then saw Vics post and checked the specs, 8mm 120 - 250 kilos breaking strain! I have just bought some proper 8mm braid on braid, breaking strain 1250 kilos!

Well, I suppose if you're managing to load it to 120-250 kg while mousing a halyard, you probably should get the expensive stuff! :)
