We stayed last year at the Apex Tower bridge. Just a short walk from the DLR which goes right to Excel. Didn't cost too much.

Free tickets! I've just bought 2!
Bloody complicated business, want to go on Saturday 16th Jan
Is that a special day, standard day, bloody worst day?
£15 each so I hope they let us in!

The 16th is the penultimate day I believe. Mobo Forum day is the Thursday 14th, late night opening, and forum members tend to gather early evening, for a drink or 2 and a chinwag. Sorry, I have never been at the weekend, so can't comment on its being good bad or indifferent. Exhibitors may be keener to deal nearer to the shows closing?

If the UK shows all close down we would really have something to moan about.
There's certainly an argument which says that if exhibitors didn't have to split their budget between 2 UK boat shows and there was just 1 UK show, that show would be a lot better than either one we have now

Maybe, but the one remaining show would always be in the wrong location and at the wrong time of year for most of the people.:D

I could not be bothered to go to SIBS unless I was buying a boat.

Certainly I could not raise the interest in travelling to the German show nor any others such as those in France, Italy or Dubai.

Just what you guys see in window shopping at boats is beyond me.

Not knocking what turns you on as it's probably me that's out of step with the rest of the forum .

Yup fair point. We're all billy no mates saddos with empty lives and nothing better to do except dream about boats we can't afford and leer at the dolly birds on the stands;)

That's the whole point though isn't it. Anyone who is seriously interested in buying a boat will make the effort to attend a show whether that be SIBS or LIBS. I'm far from convinced that two shows increases sale enough to warrant the expense.

All of us post our own feelings and opinions on the subject but the only people who are able to make a definitive decision as to whether it is profitable to exhibit at both venues are the exhibitors/manufacturers/agents.

I have been to SIBS on 3 occasions with approx 3 years between visits and to be honest I struggle to detect any difference from previous visits. The whole experience is bordering on boring.

As I am only interested in powered craft (Raggie boats are a no go) I can find all I want at LIBS as all the non boat manufacturers are present just like SIBS.

The BIG attraction for me is the excellent parking, the indoor halls (lovely and warm and dry) , the carpeted aisles, and the warm welcome you get on all the stands (except Fairline), and the excellent food hall.. Yes I know that some people think the food is to expensive but the range and quality is unmatched with any other exhibition.

Just compare LIBS catering with SIBS. SIBS is dreadful .

And of course it has the champagne bar which is a great favourite with my family.

A real bonus for me is the exceptional welcome inc free parking my family get from Sunseeker whether you are interested in changing your boat or not.

When I bought my boat and took delivery I was told 'Congratulations you are now part of the Sunseeker family".

This is demonstrated at both shows but I do prefer the lower frenetic activity that you get at LIBS.

Yup SIBS catering is shit (I got food poisoning once) but the big advantage of SIBS is the much greater variety of boat manufacturers represented there compared to LIBS which, as I said before, has become a PrinFairSeeker show case and not a lot else. In the end most people go to boatshows to see boats and on that score, SIBS is way ahead

For those that have not been and would like to broaden their horizen other than Prinfairscumseeker
