I know it may seem a little early to be planning a visit but last year I left things way too late.

Are there any Free Tickets? or Concession Tickets?

Whats the best day to go, I know there are certain nights where the entertainment is quite good with a party atmosphere.

Wheres the best place to stay?

Advice welcome:encouragement:

Boat dealers/builders have plenty of free tickets and tend to give them to past customers and strong prospects. The entertainment is on the Thursday night and I usually go there after work just for drinks, and go to the show for a proper look round on one of the weekend days. It isn't usually very crowded so even on busy weekends you can see the boats you want to see. If you know the boat salesman and are seen as a strong prospect you jump the queues anyway
There are zillions of hotels nearby and in London generally of course but imho you cannot beat www.aloftlondonexcel.com because it is in a nice spot and right by the door to the exhibition (ie the east door to Excel), and right beside price consort tube, and right beside the limo/taxi park. New building, not 5 star, but perfectly nice. The Ramada is also near the east door, but is older and nearer to that time when it needs refit. Lots of the other hotels are at the west end of the exhibition centre, which is perfectly walkable of course and no big deal
Despite some of the negative comments on here I gotta say that I like the show and go pretty much every year

Yep, there will usually be a bunch of forumites hoovering the canapes and quoffing the shampoo on the Thursday evening. Like JFM I get there late afternoon, mixing with a day of meetings in London. I think you went a couple of years ago so know what to expect?
