A friend of mine has a lewmar concept 1 winch and he had trouble with it as it was not working up or down so being a good friend it was time to investigate why not. So with the winch motor off it turns out that the bearings were seized in the gear housing. So no problem we thought lets order new bearing and gaskets from lewmar at Havant. Well lets just say that's were it went wrong with lewmar. Its customer service is shocking they were not interested whats so ever in helping they basically said buy a new winch. I don't thinks so as it needed only 4 bearings a some seals. A trip to BRT bearings and all bearings and seal brought for £48 and the new paper gaskets will be mad out of gasket paper. So lewmar stick you winches up your .......... i will never buy one of there winches based on there customer service and i found out today that this is the norm at lewmar at Havant. :livid:
