I need to replace the seal on my Size 60 Lewmar Low Profile Hatch lid. I have obtained the replacement seal and tried to fit this weekend

I removed the lid and undid the screws that hold the frame together, but was unable to separate the 2 frame halves. When I removed the screws there was quite a bit of white dust, not sure if this was old sealant to corrosion. It looks like the lid halves may be corroded together, but not sure

Has anyone had similar problems? How do I separate the 2 halves, is there something I can pour down the screw holes, or would heat work (but how much, I don't want the hot frame to damage the perspex)

Thanks for any advise.

Sounds like a little corrosion. Try using very hot water several times. Allow to dry and then try some WD40 for lubrication.
Correct. Corrosion will need working at to loosen the fittings. No direct heat..But the perspex is pretty tough so some flexing to loosen the frame should assist.
