Has anyone got links to diagrams / hints on dismantling lewmar self tailer for greasing etc. Mine looks to have a locking ring? with two pin holes that needs a tool to hold to remove nut on shaft.
Any help gladly accepted.

Just go to the Lewmar website and take a look under Support, or some such. You can download the maintenance manual covering nearly all current models. I'm pretty sure you're right about using a pin wrench to remove the top cap and from then the internals should be recognisable from the manual. Newer models are allegedly unscrewable by hand - I've yet to put this to the test!

Once you get the manual and see how all parts are connected it's a very straight forward job to maintain them. I service every year two 40ST and two 48ST on my boat.
If the "pin holes" are what lewmar describes as "collets" simply use a screwdriver to push them off. Just be careful not to loose anything!
