Levington Ship

Simon, that link is to the report in May when they shut, I can't find anything more recent on the EADT site, is there another link?

That's a bit odd, I got that link on the EADT website's home page this morning - could have sworn it said they had found new people. Perhaps I should stop trying to do two things at once.

In your defence, I have done the same as they have a list of 'most read' articles on the right hand side of the 'news' page - some of which are pretty old :o

Drove past last night and its still closed with a sign on the door.....no further update so assume they are still searching for a tenant!

It would indeed, but as the email with the details of sale have only just arrived in my inbox (I subscribe to these to keep an eye on the market) I think they'll be very lucky to find someone willing to hand over the relevant sum any time soon. They would be better off starting tenancy negotiations in the winter with a plan to open next spring.
Ingoing capital isn't substantial and rent is by agreement, so they're likely to get a taker, just this would not be a good time to start
Kings Head in Orford is the same, can't understand why it's taken this long to get the details out there, something fishy going on

I was in the Kings Head Monday evening. Limited supply of sandwiches / snacks and no food at all Monday or Tuesday at the moment.

Being run by the ex-barman and bar-lady I believe as employees of Adnams - currently negotiating a lease but I think Adnams are asking a lot of money! Adnams are currently advertising vacancies for 2 x Chef/Pub Cook – full and part time.

There is a rumour of imminent changes at the Jolly Sailor too..... time will tell.

We were in Orford this week, the King's Head was open for drinks and limited bar snacks, but talking to friends in the village we gathered that a new chef had been engaged on trial and they were hoping to have food available shortly.

We heard no rumours about the Jolly Sailor but did enjoy a pleasant roast beef lunch there on Sunday.

Incidentally for those who may be interested the Chantry HM launch is now a licensed water taxi and will convey you on request from your yacht to the shore (and return) for a modest £1-00 per person each way. This operates during normal hours. We made use of this service for our trip ashore.

That sounds like good news, does working normal hours mean it isn't available in the evening?

As far as I can gather it means the hours Phil works, about 0900 to 1730, so probably not suitable for an evening ashore. It might be worth enquiring for a particular occasion?
