03.30 Lakka Paxos , yelling and swearing like no one business first I thought someone was dragging , but it turned out to be some drunken sailor having a row , shouting the C word from the top of their voices , if your reading this you should be ashame of your self .

Reminds me of a conversation delivered at full volume and louder in Nidri last summer during the evening. Bloke with two women on board, who clearly wanted to spend loads of money. We learnt not only the probable ancestry of the women in relation to wedlock but also how much they wished to spend and how much his pension income was. They sounded sober as well but the poor bloke was clearly at the end of his tether and we waited with baited breath for the twin splashes that would mark the end of the argument as he tossed the women overboard. Didn't happen but it was quite entertaining whilst it lasted.

I thought that Paxos was over-run by the giant Russian rally, this week?

No Russian Steve , well not in Lakka anyway , just some loud mouth Brit , who decided to get totally slog , then stated to row with each over before on jump in the water F ing and blinding untill his mates when to try and find him , the whole of the anchorage was up some trying to Shine lights on home other just shout hit the basted on the head so we can get some sleep .
He was totally out of his head , I surprised he didn't drown , or maybe it would had been for the best . By the way it wasn't a charter yacht but a very big fancy yacht , I have a good mind to name and shame them , but I won't . Alli will say is if you see a strip blue and white flag with an red lion in the middle I suggest we move way .

We were there a couple of nights ago. No shouting drunks, but we did have some naff swell and roly poly-ness.

Now down in Gaios. Not quite as pretty, but useful, what with the "free" electric and all. If you head down this neck of the woods, come and say hello!

Yes we was that night too .
Off to Lafkes to day and Nidri the next , hope to find some empty cans to drain our fuel tanks so we can clean it out , if your that way and got some empty cans we can use for a day we be very gratefully

I never anchor in Lakka. Too much boats ****ting in the same pond... I prefer Longos...
The same with Nidri...

We're slowly heading that way, but will be taking our time! Pargas tomorrow, weather allowing!

Sadly no empty cans.

Quote (Ref Cruising Association MedNet)

"A rally of 24 Russian boats, with circa 150 crew are arriving at Kalymnos on Sunday. They have come from and are returning to Turkey. Their next ports of call are Leros/Lypsi. I flag this up, as earlier in the season, we could not get into the port at Paxos, because the port had been completely booked out for 3 days by a Russian rally. We could hear them across the bay, so being nearby may not be advisable."

Rolly again this evening in Lakka, but still no sign of a Russian invasion, unless they are cunningly disguised as the Nielson fleet.

No their are all down in Nidri .
PP here are now going around collecting the new TAX , 400 EUROS for 12mts , but there couldn't give us a receipt as there book fell into the water , will be back to day with receipt and a pork souvlaki to make up for the trouble .
Ps they give us a choses of Pork or Chicken .

OK I was joking .
What not a joke , we been told that PP have been fine in people who not got anchor lights on in Nidri , so be warned .
Last thing , tranquil bay look the same as last time we was here two years again , same wrecks in the same places , I talking about the Liveaboards , don't seen as any of them have moved .

You were lucky in Lakka Vic, we had a motorboat full of Welsh men the week before, who seemed to think Tom Jones being played at full volume in the middle of the night was acceptable, particularly as they all joined in at full volume. It was a very powerful sound system. Their preferred word began with an f. Happy days!

Now here's a thought. When confronted by a boat like this, don scuba gear, take some tools and visit their anchor. Undo the shackle/swivel on the anchor and let the morning breeze demonstrate how effective chain alone is at holding a boat.... Provided you boat is upwind of them....
Never do it of course but the thought makes me all warm inside.

What a pitty Sailaboutvic.

You ware the one complaining the most against the tax and now you are the first one who had to pay.

1 sir read my posting . I was joking , I guess you only read the first one and couldn't wait to make an argument out of it , just like a Selection who got nothing better to do on these forum .
2 if the tax was in I wouldn't be here .
And 3 yes off course I complain why shouldn't I ! As I am about one of the few Brit who got a back bone to complain , and as the French have threading to take Greece to EU court maybe we now hear the end of it .
4 if your in Greece and know it as well as I do you will see there not that amount of boats here for May and June , OK they may still come or just maybe there won't .
Glade you take so much interest in my posting . I must start reading your , or maybe not .

I for one recon there are less boats in the Ionian this year by a long way and as i came past Sicily and the bottom of Italy this year, i have never seen so many yachts coming towards me. Maybe Greece is ending it's era as a cruising destination. At least you can get a table at any taverna you want and plenty of room in the anchorages.
