Have been told we need some "very long ropes" for the locks for an upcoming trip to the inland waterways of the NL but. not how long "very long" is!
Any guidelines for handy lengths? Have plenty of crew so can station somebody fore and aft so don't need to do anything fancy.

No you dont, all locks are user friendly & dont rush in, hang back & raft up, let those on the wall tend lines

I spent 10 days there in Zeeland last month. Can't speak for other parts of the Netherlands. All the locks we used had lots of bollards or chains on the lock walls so no need for any crew to go ashore and tend lines from the top of the lock with very long lines like you do up the Thames. Mine were 11m long which were more than long enough.
