My Lenco Port trim tab is not working, but Starboard is OK.

Out on the boat yesterday, noticed it struggled getting onto the plane and could not level the boat while on the plane.

Carrying out a process of elimination:-

1) (30007-001) 123sc switch .To help troubleshoot the problem whether its the switch, controller or actuator. Anyone know the pinout of the 8 pin connector at the back of the switch to check if the switch is at fault.

2) To the actuators proving the controller is not at fault, can I apply a 12v supply to the actuator checking if actuator operates.

Or any other checks you know of.

thanks

In my experience its usually the motor in the actuator that fails, the controller can fail if it gets water in it as that's the only time I changed one of those.
But first I would swap the port and starboard wires to the switches over at the controller, that way you can test the switches, if it still doesn't work then you can swap the wires going to the actuators, this way you can eliminate the switch, then the actuator and finally the controller.

I had the same issue just before the boat was due to be lifted so a perfect opportunity to have a good look. It turns out that the whole unit was full of water and on close inspection the top of the unit was held on with mild steel screws! Hardly a good idea for something that is meant to be submersed. I contacted the local dealer and they were brilliant, a new actuator was despatched immediately and as the boat was under 3 years old it was covered on warranty. For good measure they sent 2 as the other unit had mild steel screws also
