Chichester. I was going to go back to my old stomping ground of Poole. The cost put me off. Trying to bring down the costs, hence the return to sail and the selling of the gas guzzling beast about 4 years ago.
When I purchased the boat and was talking with the boatyard the guy asked me what my budget was. "Bugger all" didn't go down to well. I think I've got a good'ish deal. The boat cost me 2k. I've probably spent around 300 quid'ish so far on bits and pieces and antifoul. The mooring was sub 350. The transport is looking to work out around 150'ish. Add in, say another 300 quid for things I've overlooked and I reckon buying the boat mooring it and having a it 45 mins from home has worked out a bit more than bugger all but is still an affordable pastime.
Especially when you look at my other playthings that are getting a pit pricey. Just put new tyres on the bike, £245 for the supply and fit and they'll be knackered in around 3500 miles.
On the whole I don't think I've done too badly....
