Leigh Marina always had parking problems due to the number of shipping containers used for offices and storage on the site, the new owner
started to clear and reorganise to create more parking space, great! except they will charge for the privilege - nearly £73 per month!!

People are voting with their feet or keels, since the new company came in, coffee stall gone the whole community feel gone, such a shame.

Does any other marina charge their berth holders for parking?

I'm there, I'm the small yacht that is being painted, bethfran. Come and say hi next time your there, cept I'm leaving in a week or so once I have the boat back fit to sail. Same reason as everyone else. The parking is daft, they are really going for folk who commute I reckon. They wanted to charge me £60 a month for my trailer (which they had on put on top of a container) my last marina was free, then a nominal charge of £10 pm. Plus the parking, and the £65 a mon th for my wee boat suddenly became £200 a month. No thanks. I have a staging mooring up at benfleet by the bridge now, £175 for 6 months, just need enough water to ge her there :)

Fambridge is free.
I think (not 100%) but Torquay marina on the south coast charges for their car park Although it is smack bang on the harbour.
In my opinion parking should be free for boat owners at your Marina but as a bit of compromise maybe charge for visitors - our marina in the past especially after lockdown easing has been rammed not just by the boat owners cars but their friend cars and other visitors having a day out.

Pay £5000 PA at a MDL marina and you get free parking .
The days of the old "boatyard" are fast disappearing .
We have such a yard opposite me, planning permission for houses already applied for.
Local residents up in arms of course, all sorts of petitions etc............still, it gives residents something to do besides complaining about the noise and dust from the boatyard . :)
