I've read various and contradictory opinions about whether or not to antifoul an outdrive leg. Mine (Alpha 1, not antifouled) got very weedy this year, leading to rampant paranoia on my part about blocked cooling inlets and the end of the world as we know it, though in practice there were no problems.
Is it advisable to antifoul the leg (avoiding the anodes, of course) or is it better to let well alone, and scrub at regular intervals? I know that there are special outdrive-specific paints and that the surface needs to be etched and undercoated if there is bare aluminium in evidence, but any other opinions/advice/do's and dont's?
I won't be antifouling until Feb/March but I like to consider these things at my leisure.... ;o)
