Lefkas Floating Bridge - not opening 1300 & 1400

The floating bridge will not be opening for boat traffic at 1300 and 1400 until the end of September. It’s because of the traffic jams the opening is causing in and around Lefkas town. Got the info from a notice in Ionion yard but saw the chaos resulting from the midday opening yesterday so understand why it been put in place.

I read that it was 1300 and 1500 closed like last year. Am I wrong?

No idea, just reporting what the sign said.... For my money, I’d avoid the canal after the midday opening until 1600 as it’ll be chaos either side of the bridge.

What happened to the tunnel they were going to dig out. I recall the discussion about the tax break Levkada enjoyed because the floating bridge was necessary to preserve island tax status.

It was pointed out that a tunnel would do the same reference UK and the Channel tunnel did not make Britain part of the mainland.

My son was in a taxi yesterday from Preveza airport and said they were held up as the bridge was open, that was 1400.
His brother will come through today with his flotilla of 12 boats so if he has any update I will let you know.
