LEDs again (I know, yawn)

Hi Laurie,

I read that previous thread before we bought the led replacement bulbs for Wild Thyme and remember thinking that it read like a forum feeding frenzy, where many commented vehemently on the experience of a few. But then my view was undoubtedly coloured by my own earlier experience. In the end, if a led bulb in the saloon fails early, I guess I've only lost 3 quid. And, as I said, they do sell what the OP is looking for whereas Led Hut don't, as far as I can see.

Good point, my concerns were centred round the terse correspondence I received from UltraLed when I hadn't even asked for a refund, although I sent it all back as new. To this day......... I hadn't checked LedHut site for what OP wanted, although I would be surprised if they hadn't what was requested. Another co. that has had some good feedback is Bedazzled?

Then I will recommend you to take look at this website http://www.lightingever.co.uk/
You can find some cheap quality LED bulbs here. I bought a GU 10 bulbs here before, and it works pretty well so far, so I guess maybe you can try this brand for LEDs

As with Led Hut, putting "Festoon" into their website search box gives a nil return, so I assume they don't supply replacements for any if the many sizes of festoon bulbs. So that's unlikely to help the OP.

A "properly" regulated unit shouldn't :)

It's now more than 40 years sonce I studied electronics at university, so I'm well oit of date I had understood that to achieve efficient regulation required alternating polarity at a fairly high frequency, which will inevitably produce some RFI. Althiugh the regulated led replacement bulbs we use both for saloon lighting and the masthead tri/white give us no RFI problems, I had put that down to a good electrical installation which keeps signal cables for comms equipment well segregated from 12V power cables. If thee is now available a proper means of voltage regulation, which still achieves high efficiency withoutcreating any RFI, I'm keen to learn how it's done, please.
