I have four of these that I bought from Force 4 chandlery and on all four the usb charging has stopped working.
I have been in touch with Force 4 and they are being very helpful so cannot fault their customer service, but they have not heard of any other faulty units and I was wondering if anyone else may have bought these lights and whether any similar problems have been had. The product code is: 101037
Just to clarify the light works fine but the usb charging has ceased to work.

I think I would be looking at the possibility that they have been subjected to a high input voltage . Perhaps only very briefly.
It would be interesting if an electronics engineer could look at them and and identify the mode of failure.

Did they all fail simultaneously or one at a time.
Did they fail while in use , or did you find that they had failed when you tried to use them

one stopped charging not long after launching, second a little later in the summer, the third and fourth started to charge intermittently or just very slowly until the third was useless and the fourth gave up last week so doubt it’s a voltage spike issue.

There might be a discrete fuse on the pcb in the light's usb charging circuit.
What have you been charging from them?

Force 4 have accepted a return and replacement so I won’t be dismantling them.
Only ever charged mobile phones and iPads no other devices.

The lights are great and when the usb charging was working were really convenient for plugging the phone or pad into. It’s not the leads as they still workin other charging points.

Technicalities ? . . . . The description says perfect for charging smartphones and tablets by your bunk.

just like most average Joes if I see a usb socket I will use it.

The purpose of the original post was to ask if anyone else had bought this unit and had a similar problem or not, due to the lack of response I guess not.

I’m finding more often at usb sockets on wall sockets and car adapters etc only work if the iPad or iPhone are nearly fully charged, they don’t seem to have enough power to supply the device demand. The same now goes for the older charging leads

Sorry . I have deleted / edited my posts.
