Just upgraded the instruments on my Perkins M30 with new Tacho, Temp gauge and LED ignition and oil lights. All working well except new LED Oil Pressure lamp. The lamp does not come on at all.
The circuit in the new panel is fine, when I switch the oil pressure sender line down to ground the LED comes on as it should. And bulb from the old instrument panel used to work OK too, suggesting the sender an wiring are OK. But with new panel on the boat it does not work at all.
I'm wondering if I need a parallel resistor across the LED to draw more current and look like a bulb ? Anyone got experience of this?
