LED Cabin Lights

Are the ferneaux riddle one's cool white as opposed to warm white though?

Also, I couldn't see whether they were voltage regulated - which I have been told is pretty essential otherwise you can blow them when you have the batteries at 14.4v during charging.

Extremely helpful!!

Yes, as you say they are voltage regulated, and they describe them as giving a warm white rather than a blue white.

The ones with 14 LED's you linked to initially are fully encase so no issue with moisture and condensation.

Interestingly, whilst Ultraleds are moving towards fewer high power LED's (they went from 12 to 6 and now down to 4 - each time supposedly - better (and accordingly more expensive!) FR suggest that the 14 LED ones appear brighter and don't get as hot so will have a longer life.

I've got one on the way - so we will see what its like before I order a full set. I'll report back in due course ...

Yes E Bay ones are ok dont listen to the Ultraleds warning about regulation its bull buy with confidence I have done the whole boat out with them no problems so far ultraleds failed within 1 month

I fitted a couple of Osram Dot It LED lights in a couple of galley lockers at the weekend. They use 3 x AAA batteries and are stick on. They give good illumination in these lockers but they are not bright enough to replace cabin halogen lights.

I mentioned this on a PBO thread yesterday, but its worth repeating ....

We use the Osram Dot It lights in cupboards, but have also got some others and painted the lenses with red nailvarnish. They are plenty bright enough for use as night lights and work very well.
