Hi All, I broke a contact on my anchor light so now it has to be replaced. Do I go for an LED anchor light or a cheaper model and change the festoon lamp for an LED lamp

Since my Bebi packed up I've been using one of these with the optional brighter bulb. Very bright and has some downlighting as well so deck easily seen in dark anchorages. https://boatlamps.co.uk/collections...-anchor-utility-led-light?variant=21259016647

I've had an LED anchor light for some years now. It is much brighter and whiter than incandescent bulbs so we stand out clearly in an anchorage - well at least until everyone has LED lights!
I would go down the LED route again, not only for the brightness but also for the tiny current drain.
only for long boats, of course!I'd defiately go for the LED light as the current drain is so low you can afford to have two on at the same time: one in the fore-triangle and one at masthead.
