Leather Wheel cover

Does anyone know where I can get a wheel cover or kit in leather or suede to cover the rim of a stainless steel wheel fitted to my boat. Its diameter is 28" and quite cold at times so I thought I would treat myself to a little luxury. I am situated in Devon but mail order would be OK if anyone knows of a supplier.

Boat Leather...

There are lots of suppliers, but probably the best kits come from Boat Leather. High quality leather, great instructions, and everything you need to do a professional job easily yourself. Go for the closed cell foam padded version - it makes the wheel feel warmer as well as being chunkier to handle.

[/ QUOTE ]I agree - we got one sent over from 'Boatleather' with the foam padding. Its much admired and feels good as well! The kit came with good instructions and all the parts including thread and needles. It was easy, but tedious to fit. We ordered spats for the spokes as well, and these don't have padding fitted underneath. They were easier to fit when they had been soaked in water first as it helped them to stretch.

Try Ocean Canvas (was Osen Sails) based in Plymouth. I've had good service with sail covers, sprayhood, dodgers from them, and they provide wheel covers.

Thanks for all your help. On contacting a possible supplier they suggested the local saddlers (leather work connection I suppose). Have contacted them and been quoted about half the cost of marine supplier. Just need to visit to see quality of work before placing order.

Visited them yesterday.Top gear but not foam backed, they suggested fitting heavy 2 sided tape to hold in place while u stitched and that has foam. 2 colours silver and tan both look and feel great
