Leaping off training boats?

Anyone done it? I heard a story, probably apochryphal, of someone who did that off a Sunsail boat in the Solent and end up stranded on the Calshott lightfloat!

I know of an instructor who, on the last day of the course when he was confident of their abilities, would put on a wet suit under his normal clothes, go on deck and then 'accidentally' fall overboard. All went well until the day when his crew (accidentally?) didn't notice him go, and he had to be picked up by another school.

He doesn't do it now.
