Well , have to agree with you there, the Sq 58 os a great looking boat, and if you look more closely at it is very well thought out, everything flows nicely (including the diesel it would seem).

As for the Sunseeker, they do tend to look pretty fab, apart from a few of the very, very curvy ones, which look like they managed to somehow melt the mould.

We used o have a Sunseeker, but moved to a Fairline as there was not really an equivalent sized Sunseeker to the T40, they are either bigger or smaller, plus the fact that there was a Fairline dealr 200yds away, whereas the nearest Sunseeker outlet is in Central London.

ps Fairlines also look good with a nice selection of pretty ladies aboard.

"After Nine" was definitely in Ocean Village, Southampton at the weekend, so unless he made a sterlingly rapid, bolt for home it must have been the other one. I was admiring the "clock face" mural circa After Eight choccies, on the Fly Bridge.

Hmmm...that's definitely the boat belonging to the guys that I know. I wonder what it's doing down there...unelss it's going to the Med - which I know they were thinking about. Will have to enquire. Not seen them since October, but the boat was definitely in Pwllheli on New Year's eve.

You are indeed correct about the motif being the After Eight clock...it's because they they are usually sozzled once it is 'After Nine', apparently - hilarious..hmmm...

ps if you see them aboard, I'd go and say hello, they are pretty good fun once they get going , as long as you can put up with we loud northeners (just don't get them to start on sambuca).

I would have thought that if the boat was under warranty, this would be down to Fairline - in fact even if it is out of warranty, the argument can be made that the fuel line or assembly was not fit for purpose.

As an aside - yes the weather was glorious, I just wish I could have stayed. I had come round from Porthmadog to pick up some LPG, and I just didn't want to go home, as the weather was improving further, as we motored back to port.

Hope it isn't too standard otherwise we'll all be swimming in the stuff. I know what you mean but I wouldn't expect this on any new boat never mind one that is new and cost £700k ish - not the best way to spend a Sunday.

Loud Northerners

Well some are...as a general rule Northerners are more loud and raucous than Southerners. I have lived 2/3 of my life up North (and still remaining a proud Mancunian) and the rest down South, and Northerners are definitely louder and more brash on the whole (obviously there are exceptions).

Also...I don't think that being loud is bad, is it? Have you ever heard a quiet mouse-like person being referred to as the life and soul of a party?

However, I would caveat this by saying that some Northern types can be a little too loud in a brash 'look at me' type way, especially in certain parts of Cheshire...

Our 18 month old Phantom 46 (The cheap Squaddie!!!) had perished fuel pipes replaced. They ran along the rear engine bay bulkead (in trunking) in front of the access steps. The hoses were rubber style and were badly cracked externaly. Probably still safe to use due to interior reinforcement but replaced to be on the safe side.

Oh dear...sounds shockinly bad, to be frank, if that were my boat I'd be livid - especially if there was a chance it would burst.

Think I will check our fuel pipes now, even though our boat (like yours) is not that old (will be 2 yrs old in August)...where do you think they will be on a Targa 40?

Actually, I was just joking... the loud in bold Oi bit was the deliberate attempt at a joke. OK - I failed :(

Strangely enough I was going to reply to this at 02:45 this morning when I was woken up by two girls walking past my hotel room p!ssed as newts with a real Yaah, Yaah, Yaah southern accent - but I was too knackered and went back to sleep!

i heard of a new big Princess in the so of france - the bath outlet pipe burst and flooded everything. anyone else got any big new expensive boat disaster stories?
