My old (non hypalon) inflatable is leaking air.

The hole appears to be where the floor and the tube join immediately adjacent to a join between two sections of tube.

Presumably I will have to dismantle the join toget to the hole. Has anyone attempted a repair like this?

Hi Rob, I havnt done a repair like that but have repaired a few inflatables in the past .At risk of sucking eggs etc you need to be aware that only using the correct type of glues will be sucessful and only then when you follow EXACTLY the repair instructions for your inflatable .They are very very specific and if you dont abide by them a failure will result .I would suggest contacting a supplier to be sure you obtain correct product for your inflatable , its probably a two part glue .
hope this helps
Andrew

Why not have a word with Ron Hale .... they are repair centre for inflatables ... at least you'll know its done properly then. I used them twice before .... very good jobs. Second one he advised me about looking for a replacement ... and the dinghy literally lasted as long as he estimated !!

I tried to look at it but got this:

Strange /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gifI just "tested" before posting and got on ok, and I'm a bit thick with Puters and www stuff!
Try googling polymarine first and get in that way.
I know they are very active in the "Sticky mend a boat" stuff cos they operate near Me, weird!

Thinking about it. I did a google first--had a quick look at the sight for some info then copied what I thought was the web address.
Try that then you will probably get the correct address, like I said taint My forte!

Apologies for not following up on my posting - I didn't have time to log on at the w/e.

I'm (over)due to take my liferaft in to Ron Hale for servicing. I could ask about PVC repair of inflatables and whether it is likely to be worth the trouble. I notice though that their web site seems to have gone a bit up-market!

It's made my maxxon which does not appear to be sold in the UK anymore. It does seem better quality than the ones I see in chandleries - but nothing lasts forever, even in a cockpit locker.
