Leaky inflatable valve

I have a Bombard AX4 inflatable tender with the usual valve in every tube -- the whole thing screws in and has a screw-in lid. One of these is leaking no matter how tight I make it. I have tried smearing vaseline liberally over the threads but this doesn't work. Any thoughts?

you could try a little PTFE tape [as used by plumbers] on the thread, as a temporary measure. There must be a seal of some type inside, which is not seating properly, as it is unusual to just rely on the thread as a seal.

Had the same problem with my Zodiac when it was still fairly new. Problem was caused by a crossed thread (not on the forum!)
Decided to have both valves replaced with the spring type as on Avons. This was done professionally for about £60 but it was well worth the money.
