leaking oil cooloer on volvo

on my aqad 40 200 hp diesel has a bad leak of oil and water it looks like its corroded away,
firstly , would it have corroded over 12 yrs or should there be anodes fitted on the engine ifso where?
secondly . how much is a new oil cooloer any ideas?

I have been here myself...........

The cooler should have an anode on the front of the cooler, at the bottom, but they are never replaced, so over 12 years !! the coolers corrode and then leak

The replacement cost (You are sitting down) is around 1500 pounds,

How many engines do you have ?

Ours was leaking oil and water Had it totally rebuilt by local auto radiator repair specialist as a one-off job. All hand soldered and patched for £59 (cash!!!) Good as new three years later.
