I have a 50 litre flexible freshwater tank which I suspect is leaking (freshwater in bilge). I took it home, and took see through inner bag out of blue cover. I think leak is through the screw thread of the filler fitting on top of the bag. I tried to improve seal of thread using PTFE tape, but leak still there. Could I glue or seal this fitting on? Any ideas? Thanks.

I had exactly the same prob with a much bigger one of those. PTFE didn't work for me either. What did, and is still working over 2yrs later, is, of all things, Sikkaflex. I ended up using the adhesive one, not just the sealant.

You've got nothing to lose by trying! Some of the stickiest sealant I've used is Sikaflex EBT+ (about a fiver from Screwfix). It seems to adhere tenaciously to most materials, and was very handy when installing a bathroom last year.

There should be a foam gasket between the flange and the bag. Check that this is in good condition and replace if necessary.

There is a hard plastic O ring within the fitting, but no foam gasket. O ring seems intact and seating well.

"Glad" to hear others have experienced same problem, and come up with solution. Thanks.
