Hi Gang,
The installation of my new batteries was done successfully about 2 months ago. One concern emerged; one of the 4 banks was only accepting 20Ah charge current while the other 3 took a full 30 Ah. This was referred to the NZ distributor on arrival and the following course of action was completed.
4 out of the 8 bats were removed from the boat and discharged individually to 50% then recharged fully using a 30 ah charger (it is recommended to charge at 30% of the rated amperage; the batts are 100Ah). The first 4 were reinstalled on the boat and the second half received the same treatment.
A week later, I can report that all batteries now accept similar charges. Being on the hard, we use only 1 refrigerator (we live on board) and in the NZ sun the batts are fully charged before 1000 every day. Looks good for now!
