Nope, hoping to go next Friday. Will probably go train to Waterloo, Thames Clipper to Canary Wharf, then shuttle-bus to Excel. Nicer journey than all that Underground and DLR stuff....

Anyone going this Sat?

My free ticket ses Wednesday,it also ses I am a definately in the market for a very large Fairline of some sort and will either spend my hard earnt very large bank bonus or some of my vast inherited wealth (not sure which) if they are very nice to me.I may settle however for a glass of cheap plonk,a few leaflets and a key ring with the name of a finance company on it,while gawping at the young ladies in black tights and that uniform .Mmmmmm

Went today had a great time lots of lovely boats there and it was was super quiet not good for exhibtors but great for me.

Also achevied a life long abbition to use the woolich ferry :D (twice)

Just about to set off....been down back of settee....big wad of cash in purse.
Need 2 x deck drains(smallish) ......LIBS watch out for some hardball big time cash deals :)

Just arrived home after a pleasant day!

Took the train, not entirely happy with four late trains out of a total of six (DLR was the only one running on time!) and subsequently the Thames Clipper (WooHoo! What a beast!)

Saw lots of lovely boats, although the 32 metre Princess left me cold, surely something that big isn't really 'boating' is it?

Sadly missed the Beneteau 42 Trawler we saw a few years ago, gorgeous she was!

Nice to see Ian from Bray Boats Sales on the Sheerline, and although Ramage and I didn't meet up, at least we had a running Text commentary...LOL

Birchwood are back, albeit made in China, with the old 380, not bad value at £220000 but the finish both in terms of GRP shine and some of the manufacturing processes was a bit iffy (Self tappers visible all around the instrument binnacles, scrappy sealer around some of the edges, and the high gloss wood although very shiny, looked 'wrong' but it wasn't at all bad in other areas...)

Seamaster (AKA Viking) had a 27 footer, quite tidy and fairly rakish by Viking standards, but missing the charisma of the older versions, one would have thought it wouldn't cost any more to make a truly attractive boat with a little modification!

Broom had a lovely 395, as impeccably finished as ever, didn't ask how much it was, daren't ask in fact...

The market hall had quite a few stands, very little I wanted to buy, which was a good thing after lashing out £100 on fares, tickets and a few snacks...

Looking forward to a good years boating now!!

Heading off there tomorrow and think I might try the Thames Clipper for a change. Our 'local' London mainline station is Waterloo, so a short walk to the eye, then Canary Wharf I believe. Any idea how frequent the shuttle buses are from Canary Wharf? Extra good news is that the heating is finally sorted on our boat so looking forward to a loooooong overdue pootle about on Sunday!

What did anybody think of the new Landrover ?Supposed to start at under 30K,mind you a steering wheel is probably regarded as an extra

Thanks Ramage, I had to take the new doggie to puppy school so was too late to use the clipper, could have been a bit of a fruitless trip if you hadn't have posted the times for me.

Had a good day out though, surprised how much it has shrunk though! Not much chandlery, all boats in the one hall, but the additional seating in the middle was good, and also seems to be a new Fairline bar there now. Very busy yesterday, wasn't expecting such a turn out, but it did just seem to be people walking around, and not too many actually on the stands...
