Got a strange issue this season. I have an Autohelm Bidata (depth / speed) mounted on the dashboard of my Bavaria. Transducer on starboard side and paddle wheel on port side both accessed via the engine room.
For some reason it's started to behave like an old valve set. From the time of turning it on to the display actually showing me the correct reading can be anything between 10 minutes and several hours. Just reads 0.0 until suddenly deciding to spring in to life to tell me how much water is below the keel...
Has anyone had anything similar and able to guess whether it could be the instrument or transducer at fault??
