OK I'm confused... :confused:

Coming in late to the (3?) discussions, is it:

a) On?

b) Being sorted by L'il?

c) or not?

d) on 13/14th Oct?

e) or not?

f) At Brightlingsea?

g) or elsewhere?

If it's on is it too late to request one of the last two weekends in October to suit school half term? :p

or is that likely to kick off another ****storm? :rolleyes:

As a newbie to all this, I'm well confused by how things are run. I thought to start with Sailorman was organising it. I was pleased cos I'd met him and I owe him a beer. Fox's would have been great for me as well. I didn't realise there was a set person who always organised it. So sorry, cos I tried to persuade Sailorman to go ahead with it. I'm also unsure of the way it's decided as to where it's held. Is it not ok to make suggestions? Does Chatting Lil decide? Doesn't she get fed up of organising it? Shouldn't someone else do it sometimes? Confused of Essex. :confused:

Hi Daniel - please don't be put off! It's not usually like this! In brief, the answers to you questions:

Usually someone, at around this time of year, comes up with a date and venue. People either go or they don't. I've done it a few times, but it's certainly not my gig - anyone can. I stepped in because of the strange Sailorman wind up thread. I was going to do it at Brightlingsea, but then some other Forumites requested some different ideas because of their drafts/availability. It's always fine for suggestinos and even finer for anyone to organise anything they want! I'm just too busy at the moment to wade through all the suggestions and also, I'm fairly new to the East Coast myself, so don't know many of the places. Shotley was ruled out because it seems that - at the moment - noone likes the shipwreck and the Bristol Arms is closed. The rest is now all down to someone else!

You are still the one making most sense and I apologise for my mischievous thread earlier. Why don't you appoint a deputy with local knowledge? That Moodysabre bloke seems to have time on his hands and gets around a bit...:)
 
I have spoken to Lisa and she is happy for me to make an offer to the forum.

Taking on board some of the requests and ignoring others I have spoken to Sarah at The Rose in Shotley Village.

She is very happy to have us there on Saturday 27th October.
Neil (Phoenix of Hamble) and I checked out the food etc. the other week and found in most acceptable.
There will be a minibus service to collect people from near the Bristol Arms and bring you back later again checked out by us.
She is sorting a menu that I will have later this week.
I will start another thread for those interested to make their reservations.
