Hi Guys.
A little question that intrigues me is it best to lay teak deck planks with their growth rings in the vertical or horizontal.
Can they be put down in ether.
Say so the grain Patten is seen eg on the coach roof and in the vertical on deck so you have an end grain situation.
Which will be the best.
Your views and comments will be much appreciated.

Vertically is the only way for quality work - that is quarter sawn ( expensive !)
There will be less movement in this section laid this way from both heat and water.

If you lay it with the rings horizontally then more movement and also splinters !!!

It will also wear more quickly if horizontally laid .
